STRESS REDUCTION
Having meaning and purpose are essential in living one's life. We assist individuals and organizations by reducing their personal and environmental stress through Eastern and Western Mindfulness and heart rate variability biofeedback. Mindfulness brings greater balance into one's life by becoming more aware of each living moment and bringing attention to that present moment. The heart brain connection is one of many tools that may assist you in understanding and enhancing one's everyday health. Research regarding heart rate variability (HRV) has continued to increase over the last two decades. Heart rate variability measures the balance of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) (consisting of the sympathetic and parasympathetic branches) which regulates arousal and most of the body's internal functions. This balance is out of sync when one experiences acute and chronic negative emotions and stress. When this occurs the heart rhythm pattern is erratic and disordered causing neural signals traveling from the heart to the brain to inhibit higher cognitive functions. This limits our ability to think clearly and make effective decisions. In contrast, an ordered and stable pattern of the hearts input to the brain during positive emotional states facilitates cognitive function and reinforces positive feelings and emotional stability. This affects the entire body and affects how we perceive, think, feel, and perform. The purpose of heart rate variability biofeedback (HRVB) training is to improve one's ability to self-regulate, to enhance the quality of life and personal performance.
